M.B.P. -  Much  Better  Place

Laug Auf, both literally and figuratively means to be in the moment, living with ‘Eyes Open'.

Because, with eyes open, we see countless possibilities within ourselves. And equally important, we see them for others. We unleash our potential to inspire and empower; to be the change that we want to see.

With our eyes open, Laug Auf has teamed up with these charitable causes, assisting them in making the world a “Much Better Place.”

Current Campaign

Our current campaign is to contribute 10% of our online sales revenue to EXPOSURE Skate, a non-profit that empowers women and girls through skateboarding. Exposure's programs include skateboarding clinics, competitions and events that not only focus on girls' developing their skateboarding skills and careers but also engage participants in service projects that help local communities and nonprofits in need. Exposure believes that this combination helps to build confidence and compassion in women and girls.

10% of the revenue from anything you buy in our online store will go directly to Exposure Skate.

Wanna chip in?

How about grabbing one of these limited edition co-branded Laug Auf Exposure Skate hats?

Pretty dope, right?

Past and Ongoing Efforts

The Fiver Children's Foundation is a comprehensive youth development organization that makes a 10-year commitment to children from under-served communities throughout New York City and central New York. Through character-building summer and year-round out-of-school time programs, Fiver empowers children to make ethical and healthy decisions, to become engaged citizens, and to succeed in school, careers, and life. Fiver's inspiring work is a game-changer for so many kids and young adults, and their mission aligns so well with the Laug Auf message.

** Laug Auf's Buy One Hat, Give One Hat campaign was a big success. For every hat we sold, we gave one of our Fiver Special Edition hats to a Fiver camper or staff member - 509 hats in all!

The North Shore Holiday House is an independent, not-for-profit organization, that has provided free summer experiences to more than 200 girls, ages 7-11, from low-income Long Island communities for over 100 years.

** Laug Auf ran a pop-up shop at HBCA one week before Christmas, 2018. 5% of all proceeds went directly to North Shore Holiday House.

Kristy’s Smile Foundation fundraisers have truly given the gift of “HOPE” to those who need it most, in memory of Kristy Irvine-Ryan. Years ago, Kristy and her friends Meredith O’Neill Hassett and Louise Rexer-Smith began the “Secret Smiles” foundation. They helped transform the living conditions of local children in need, purchasing beds, bedding, and accessories, and delivered them anonymously! For more than a decade, the generosity has continued in her memory and donations in excess of $300,000 have greatly assisted the Family Service League (FSL) in providing direct relief and homeless services to children, individuals, and families in crisis.

** Laug Auf participated in the 2018 Kristy's Smile Golf Outing, purchased a tee sponsorship, and donated an online shopping spree worth $750 as the featured auction item, in addition to giving 50% of sales at the outing back to Kristy's Smile Foundation.

Fundraiser Basket Donations has been something we continue to get involved with to help individuals, teams and other organizations doing good in our local community.

So far, we have donated baskets of Laug Auf gear for raffle prizes to the following organizations and causes:

  • Cub Scout Pack 225 - Greenlawn/Centerport (NY)

  • Old Field Middle School

  • Northport Lacrosse

  • Northport Boys Basketball

  • Youth Directions & Alternatives (YDA)

  • Tommy Mazur 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

  • The bELIeve Project: Eli Mollineaux Memorial Scholarships

The Surf/Skate Conservancy is an upstart non-profit that helps improve locations that kids care about involving wildlife, waterfronts, action sports and other outdoor activities. The goal is to provide kids with opportunities to give back and serve their community by conserving natural habitats and public spaces. In turn, this will help them to keep their 'Eyes Open,' continue to enjoy real-world experiences and cultivate meaningful human connections.

** Laug Auf contributed 10% of online sales revenue during the spring and summer of 2019.
