Mo is an absolutely terrific writer and illustrator — my 7 year old daughter GG’s favorite. His stories are fun, funny, and every one of them teaches a lesson that’s straightforward enough for the youngest readers (and even younger listeners) to understand and contemplate. Simple, direct sentences, with words in varying sizes, styles and emphasis, along with characters effectively expressing emotion through facial and body language, clearly express themes that cover friendship, honesty, anxiety/fear and resolution, big ideas (for little people), empathy and countless other important topics.
His illustrations are clean and simple enough for budding artists to draw themselves; a real confidence builder! As a bonus, it’s a thrill for kids to find characters from other books hiding throughout the pages.
There is one problem*, though...
LAUG AUF, READ ON.
